eBay profit calculator

Type a price, your costs and your fee rates. See the fees, the profit per sale, the margin, the break-even price, and what matching a cheaper seller would do to your margin.

Defaults are typical rates, not your rates. Check the category fee in Seller Hub. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

How the maths works

What each line means

Buyer total

eBay charges the final value fee on what the buyer pays: item price plus the postage you charge. That is why free postage with a higher item price and paid postage with a lower item price can give different fees.

Fees

Final value fee percentage times the buyer total, plus the fixed per-order fee, plus promoted listings percentage if you use it. Store subscriptions and international fees are outside this calculator.

Profit and margin

Buyer total minus fees, minus your item cost and your real postage and packaging cost. Margin is profit divided by the buyer total.

Break-even

The item price at which profit is exactly zero given your costs, postage and fee rates. Anything below it loses money on every sale.

Matching a cheaper seller

Enter the cheaper seller’s landed price and see your profit if you matched it. If that number is below your floor, matching is the wrong move; PriceIntel AI makes that call per product, every check.

Keep it honest

Use your own category rate from Seller Hub. Defaults are typical, not yours.

Do this for every product

The calculator answers one listing. PriceIntel AI answers all of them, every morning.

The hard part is not the arithmetic. It is knowing, for every product, who is cheaper than you today, by how much once postage is counted, and whether matching them is worth it. That is what PriceIntel AI does on schedule: reads the other sellers, compares landed prices, and suggests a price per product with a floor from your cost and minimum profit.
